For employment onboard, you must have two years of relevant shore-side experience. For example, front desk personnel (pursers), need two years experience and/or training in a hotel, and photographers would require two years experience in studio or freelance photography.
Most of our cruise ship contracts include six months onboard, then one to two months at home. Management and medical positions usually serve four months onboard with two months at home and then back to sea again. We also have occasional needs for seasonal youth staff and youth supervisors during holiday periods when we have more children/youth onboard. We occasionally have youth positions available for contracts as long as six months.
As Youth Staff you will assist our full time staff with the facilitation of onboard youth activities. Youth Security ensure that everyone is having a good time while adhering to shipboard policies.
To qualify, you must have one-two years experience with children in a group setting or formal teaching experience (teachers college, early childhood development training, or camp counseling). Many of our staff are teachers or teachers-in-training, early childhood educators, outdoor recreation staff, camp counselors or lifeguards.
All positions are full-time assignments. Related experience to the job is required.
E.R. or Critical Care Nurses
We are currently recruiting nurses with at least 3 years of nursing experience; a portion of which should be E.R./Critical Care or Urgent Care. Nurses work onboard for 4 month contracts with 2 months of leave. There are up to 4 nurses and 2 physicians onboard each ship. Looking for a brand new challenge in a different environment? This position onboard might be exactly what you are looking for. The paramedic position exists on some of the Princess cruises vessels. You will join a team of medical doctors and nurses from around the world. It is an opportunity to travel and work in a modern up to date medical facility on some of the most beautiful ships at sea while enhancing your scope of practice. It does require that you be away for up to 4 months at a time and have at least 3 years post certified shore-side experience as a paramedic.
